Membership of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2864 have ratified their latest collective bargaining agreement with the City of Abbotsford, which covers a three-year period beginning Jan. 1, 2022, and expires at the end of December this year.
“We as a fire service … strive to be available and put our best foot forward for the citizens of the city,” said Shane Petrie, President of IAFF Local 2864. “Whether that’s on or off the job, whether that’s contractual through work or in our personal lives, we strive to be around for the community we live in.”
The terms of the deal, ratified May 28, provides the 128 fire fighters employed by the city with a 3.5 per cent wage increase for 2022, and 4.5 per cent increases for each of 2023 and 2024.
