Chilliwack Pride Society (CPS) will hold its sixth annual Chilliwack Pride Festival (CPF) from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, centred in Central Community Park and the surrounding area.
There will be more than 150 vendors on-site including about 10 food trucks, said Joy Dolney, CPS social media and marketing director.
Dolney said events like this show people that LGBTQ people exist, “We need to show people that we’re still here, that we’re still taking up space and we’re not going anywhere, no matter how much you want us to, we’re not leaving.”
A full schedule of entertainment is planned for the afternoon, including live music.
“Bands that will be performing, The Unbranded, and The Dimes. Several drag queens [will perform]. It’ll be a great time.” Dolney said.
Dolney anticipates a well attended event, citing an attendance of greater than 20,000 people in 2023.
