Alzheimer’s Awareness Month takes place in January and caregivers are a central focus of this year’s local campaign.
While Executive Director at Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington Michelle Martin says those who take care of individuals living with dementia should always be supported, there is more of a focus on these caregivers this month.
She says this year is about ending stigma and opening the door for community and conversation between care partners.
CICW sat down with Martin to learn more about this year’s emphasis on caregivers during Alzheimer’s Awareness month.
