Jevon Rudder is the final person to throw his hat in the ring for the Russell Township Council by-election.
Rudder is known for his non-profit organization, Russell Rocks, which fundraises for local charitable initiatives and as a part owner of the Homestead Pub in Embrun, where he manages entertainment.
He hopes to be a voice for people he doesn’t feel he sees represented on Council, and his concerns include the pace of development. He moved here ten years ago because he liked the small town feel and agricultural roots of the small municipality just southeast of Ottawa. Protecting and aiding local farmers and local small businesses is part of his platform.
The by-election is September 30 and is being held to replace Mike Tarnowski who was appointed as Mayor after the previous mayor resigned to take a new job. CJRO is interviewing all of the candidates running for office in this by-election.
