BGC Southeast (BGCSE), formerly known as the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston, shared its year-end update with Loyalist Township council, focusing on realized and expected growth as their partnership continues. The Big Brothers, Big Sisters program was also noted as a success in the area.
The Township entered into a five-year agreement with BGCSE in 2022 for the delivery of day camps. This year, summer day camps were offered in Amherstview and Bath, but not in Odessa due to lack of a suitable location. The camps were filled to nearly 95% capacity and were attended by 271 different children.
For the 2024-2025 school year BGCSE is offering a new after-school program at Amherstview Public School, available to all children ages 4-12 years of age.
