Monday was the final day for La Petite Librairie Drawn & Quarterly, a popular children’s bookstore in the Mile End.
For the past six years, it’s been in the storefront at 176 Rue Bernard O, right across from the flagship bookstore of the popular comics publisher.
Drawn & Quarterly management say that sales at the children’s store simply never recovered after the COVID-19 pandemic. The premises, already used for book launches and other events, will be transformed into an events-only space. The children’s section is being folded back into the main bookstore at 211 Rue Bernard O.
