The Ban Righ Centre has just celebrated 50 years of providing resources for women at Queen’s University.
Since opening their doors in October of 1974 to support mature women students, the Centre has grown to provide support and community for women of all ages and faculties at Queen’s. This includes providing student advising, advocacy on behalf of students, and a plethora of events throughout the year.
Anniversary celebrations finished with a Gala at the Isabel Bader Centre at the end of last week, also unveiling an installation created from the “Who is She?” fundraising campaign. The campaign began last fall, asking donors to make contributions in honour of an important woman in their lives.
In the following interview, Director of the Ban Righ Centre Susan Belyea reflects on the celebrations and the reveal of the “Who is She?” installation.
