Snowmobilers are eager to take to the trails but there may not be enough snow in some areas, and the ice is nowhere near frozen, according to a local organization.
Glenn Green, president of the Western Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club on the west coast, says on average, there are about 3,000 season pass holders each year. Green says riders have to be careful early in the season since there could be hazards that haven’t been marked yet.
When the season is in full swing, Green says snowmobilers should keep to the right of the trail, keep speeds down, mark hazards and report them, and always have a trip plan to leave with loved ones.
