Pontiac MNA Andre Fortin stopped by CHIP 101.9s studios on February 9 for a wide ranging interview on provincial politics, covering everything from organ donation to party financing and the current state of the Quebec Liberal Party.
Fortin gave a rundown of the progress of Bill 194, a bill he has put forward that would change the process for how organs are donated in the province. Under the “presumed consent” system that the bill proposes, Quebecers would be assumed to be willing donors unless they state otherwise.
He also spoke about the resurgence in the polls of the Liberal Party’s historical rivals, the Parti Québécois. Fortin said their jump in popularity has a lot to do with the population’s frustration with the CAQ’s governance.
