Bleu Massawippi and Robonotic have partnered on an environmental project to monitor Lake Massawippi for zebra mussels, using an artificial predator to help with the task.
Laurence Renaud-Langevin, the General Manager of the organization Bleu Massawippi since summer 2023, is leading this effort. She points out that this AI-driven technology is a major advancement in protecting water ecosystems because it is faster and more accurate than traditional methods. Renaud-Langevin stated that “This initiative marks a significant step in protecting aquatic biodiversity,”
Thanks to a close collaboration and support from government partners, the organization envisions that this technology can be used throughout the province of Quebec in order to guarantee early identification of invasive species and proactive conservation actions.
For anyone who are interested in helping the cause or gaining additional information, Renaud-Langevin recommends getting in touch with Bleu Massawippi or Robonotic directly.
