At the 2024 Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference in Toronto last week, Wellington County Warden Andy Lennox was present to discuss among other issues, housing and homelessness.
An “acute” and “complex” issue in Lennox’s mind, homelessness is something he says the province is trying to tackle as much as the county is.
Heading into a health and housing symposium exclusive to county officials this week, Lennox says he hopes to continue conversations from ROMA at the local level.
CICW spoke with Lennox after the ROMA conference and in advance of the symposium, on what’s been done locally to combat the issue, and what’s to come in Wellington County.
