Fundraising campaign study for recreation centre shows nearly 60% of respondents likely to donate towards $2 million goal
Positives, negatives, and uncertainty were all seen in interviews conducted by BNP Goldie Canada as part of a fundraising campaign study for the W.J. Henderson recreation centre. According to staff, one of the biggest surprises was that nearly 60% of people saying they would be likely to donate to the centre.
At their meeting this week, Loyalist Township council received an update on the study. The motion to receive also included approving commencement of the capital campaign outlined in the report.
According to BNP, they interviewed influencers, and decision-makers in the area to compile their data. Challenges include the general economy, community demographics, and competition from other large charities. They also noted some people being under the impression that the centre has already been paid for, or the cost is covered by taxes.
