Health officials in Northumberland County say there are enough influenza vaccinations to meet demand
With influenza season now in full swing, pharmacies and healthcare providers in Northumberland County are offering free immunizations.
The Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit says there are enough vaccinations to meet current demand.
Marianne Rock, Manager, Communicable Disease Prevention and Control for the Health Unit says the influenza strain is categorized as “A”, with the “B” strain expected later on in the flu season.
The Health Unit is hearing concerns from residents that they must take both a flu shot and a COVID vaccine this season to protect against infection.
Rock spoke with CFWN News on how the flu season is developing.
