Local rowing veteran, Olympian hired as new head of Trent Rowing
Trent Rowing has restructured its coaching and administrative staff to accommodate its growing number of athletes this fall and there’s a familiar face at the helm of the operation.
Athletics has hired Brian Love, long-time Peterborough rower and 1976 Montreal Olympics competitor, as Head of Operations – Trent Rowing, a position that has never existed before.
“For many years, we have had a head coach which liaises directly with the University’s athletic department and also runs the program,” says Love.
Trent Rowing will now feature coaches to work with the athletes, coordinators to communicate with the University, and Love to oversee the organization.
Love helped develop a similar structure during his time at the Peterborough Rowing Club, which he has been involved with for nearly 50 years.
