Town of Erin amends alcohol policy to include all municipal properties
It’s getting easier to get permission to serve alcohol at events in Erin.
The Town of Erin amended its alcohol policy at its recent meeting to allow the clerk to designate an event as “municipally significant” in support of a Special Occasion Permit and expand the eligibility to serve alcohol at all facilities, including parks where previously alcohol sales had been prohibited.
All event organizers must be approved for a Special Occasion Permit through the Alcohol and Gamming Commission of Ontario.
Other changes include doubling the amount of liability insurance required from $1 million to $2 million. The policy does allow staff to apply other conditions as circumstances require.
