Council seeks community input on proposed agreement with Toronto condominium developer
Six Nations Elected Council and it’s Consultation and Accommodation Process (CAP) Team were looking to hear community’s opinion on a proposed agreement between Council and Tercot Communities, who are looking to obtain support from Council to build 4 condominium buildings in Toronto.
The agreement states if the project is supported by Council, a Cultural Centre will be installed in one of the condominium buildings to be owned and operated under Six Nations or if it’s determined not feasible, a one time payment for $1 million will be made to Six Nations, and Council would show it’s support for the project for an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal that’s scheduled to get underway in February 2025.
Six Nations’ CAP Team heard concerns from community members during a community engagement session on Nov 13. and will host an additional session on Nov 22.
