Corner Brook recreational centre is over budget but council says it’s not over yet
The new Corner Brook Recreational Centre is $1.1 million over budget and the project won’t be complete until late spring.
The matter was discussed during Monday night’s public meeting. Coun. Charles Pender says this amount works out to be about 5 per cent over budget. He asked council if there was a total cost on recent change orders, but Mayor Jim Parsons says the community lucky the overall cost isn’t higher.
Meanwhile, at the centre, paint and plaster is nearly complete, pool mechanical equipment installation is ongoing and most millwork has been installed. CKVB news was at the council meeting and filed a report.
