Premier speaks at Prairie Green Landfill as search for remains of missing women begins
The process of searching for the remains of two women in the Prairie Green Landfill has begun.
Premier Wab Kinew and Amna Mackin, the project lead, provided updates about the five-stage search process. Currently, the search is in the third stage, materials in an area of the landfill where the remains are believed to be are being ready to get moved. There is also an ongoing hiring process; eventually, two teams of 12 full-time workers will search for the remains.
“We’re searching the landfill and we’re ready to get it done”, Cambria Harris says. She is the daughter of Morgan Harris, one of the missing women, and has taken on a strong role in advocating for the search for the remains.
Stage three is expected to end at the end of November, and in early December stage four will begin where the excavation process will start.
