Regional District says no to proposed Airport Way tourist accommodation
A proposed tourist accommodation along Airport Way in Revelstoke won’t be moving forward.
At its regular meeting on August 15, The Columbia Shuswap Regional District Board of Directors voted against approving two zoning bylaw amendments for a small tourist accommodation with four tourist cabins and a six-bedroom lodge.
While a staff report supported the application, Electoral Area B director David Brooks-Hill spoke against the application, saying that while there are existing vacation rentals in the area, it is his opinion that the proposed small resort would change the character of the neighbourhood.
The name of the property owner was not revealed at the meeting, and attempts by Stoke FM to obtain it from the Region were denied.
