Developer plans in Mount Forest sparks concern from nearby residents
Concerns over proposed retail spaces near a Mount Forest grocery store were raised during a public meeting in Wellington North this week. A developer wants a zoning amendment to the vacant south portion of the No Frills lot on Main Street.
The public meeting discussed the application from a developer seeking to rezone 504 Main Street North which would then clear the way for two new retail units on a vacant portion of the lot, to the south, totaling over 2,000 square metres. It also calls for a seasonal slash in the number of parking spaces to make room for a garden centre.
Residents of the area discussed several issues including increased traffic, fencing, and light pollution.
