The Association of Allied Health Professionals (AAHP) are no longer involved in collective bargaining with government.
On Tuesday, the AAHP decided it was time to focus its energy on mobilizing the members and determining the next step. President Gord Piercey says members are done waiting and demanding change now. The union is finalizing its essential services and supporting its membership at this time.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Siobhan Coady provided a status of the collective bargaining yesterday afternoon. She says government is being fair and they are asking for an external mediator to get involved in talks. The AAHP has been advocating for a more publicly funded and publicly provided health care system for years.
