First Nations Cable and Solo Cable Solutions says the whole Six Nations community will have access to fiber optic internet by the end of 2025.
The two cable companies gave an update on the project, which began construction in June 2023, during the Jan. 23 general council meeting.
During the update, First Nations Cable and Solo Cable Solutions confirmed that the upcoming plan is to have another 60 km of fiber optic lines installed by May; the project is set to be completed by Dec. 31, 2025.
The companies are working with Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) to have information on upcoming work shared to the community through council’s social media and mobile app.
SNEC accepted the presentation as information during the Jan. 23 general council meeting.
