Six Nations Fire and Emergency Services (SNFES) has been given approval to purchase a new light rescue truck to better serve the community in emergency situations.
SNFES say the purchase comes after an operational review and that the new 4-Door Extreme Tactical “Sawtooth” vehicle will allow the fire department to have access to remote or isolated off road areas within the community during emergencies. The purchase will cost the SNFES a total of $366,574.44.
SNFES spoke on the excitement to have the vehicle in the department.
“The personnel of the SNFES are looking forward to receiving this new response vehicle. Any opportunity that can be taken by SNFES personnel to better equip themselves to serve the needs of the community will always be taken and championed by them.”
The new purchase of the 4-Door Extreme Tactical “Sawtooth” vehicle was approved by Six Nations Elected Council during the Jan. 15 general finance meeting.
