On January 9th, Six Nations of the Grand River elected council (SNEC)’s weekly General Council meeting began with a speech from Chief Sherri Lynn Hill following the incident where community member Dylan Isaacs was fatally shot after leaving a NFL game in Miami Florida.
Isaacs, a 30 year old community member of Six Nations, was fatally shot while leaving a NFL Game on the evening of January 7th, 2024.
Six Nations community members have shared their support for family and friends of Issacs and several fundraisers have been put together by community members and organizations with one of the largest being a GoFundMe campaign has been started by Ashley Cooke who’s a community member and family friend who wanted to assist the family during this difficult time, the GoFundMe campaign has now reached over $105,325 in donations.
Funds collected and will be transferred to the family of Isaacs and sent to Dylan’s Aunt Cecelia Skye.
