Groups representing teachers, students, and school service centres are cautiously optimistic about a new plan to catch up Quebec students after weeks of strike actions last fall.
On Tuesday (Jan. 9), Education Minister Bernard Drainville announced a $300 million investment, most of which is going toward adding extra supports for the students who need them the most.
The plan’s flexibility on who gets those supports and how they’re given has been its big selling point. But Quebecers will have to wait and see how many teachers choose to put in the overtime the government is asking for.
