Loyalist Township council appointed Andrew Field as acting Deputy Fire Chief for the Loyalist Township Fire Department at its first meeting of the year.
They also marked the end of Fred Stephenson’s time as Fire Chief and director of emergency services. Stephenson retired after having served in Loyalist for 28 years.
As part of by-law no. 2021-028, council may appoint an acting Deputy Fire Chief in the case of an absence, or a vacancy in the position. The acting Deputy Fire Chief has all the powers and duties of the Fire Chief.
