McGill University has a new draw for Canadian out of province students worried about rising tuition fees. Late in December, the university announced the $3,000-per-year Canada Award, which will offset Quebec’s tuition hike for around 80 percent of next year’s out-of-province undergraduate students.
The award will be automatically applied to incoming students in all faculties except engineering and business. It will renew throughout their degree for up to four years.
Fabrice Labeau, Deputy Provost of Student Life and Learning, joins CKUT to discuss the award and the way McGill is responding to the uncertainty surrounding the hikes.
