Juno award nominee Adham Shaikh will be performing at an upcoming fundraiser in Silverton later this month. Residents of New Denver and Silverton are hosting an event to raise money for Doctors Without Borders on Jan. 20 at the Silverton Memorial Hall.
According to their website, Doctors without Borders “provides emergency medical humanitarian care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.”
The event will feature several musical acts as well as a silent auction consisting of art, memorabilia, a sailboat tour and more.
One of the organizers, Moe Lyons, joined CJLY to discuss the event. Lyons said, “with everything going on in Gaza now is a really good time because people are thinking about them.”
