The Municipality of the Township of Potton has officially unveiled its street banner project in Mansonville to promote local art.
The street banner project is an initiative of Potton’s Culture and Heritage Advisory Committee. Inspired by a similar project in the Municipality of Sutton, the goal with the street banners is to showcase the artistic works of Potton’s artists and craftspeople and the diversity of mediums, according to Valerie Thérien, Director of Communications for the municipality and committee member.
The project was initially proposed by committee member and local artist Daniel Dufresne, said Thérien, and the committee supported the idea of having people discover Potton’s artists in a different way.
Primarily located in Place Manson park, the installation of the street banners create what Thérien describes as an “art trail” or “open-air” art gallery for those walking through the village.
