Toronto Centre MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam says that this year was a long year. 2023 was a year where every month in Toronto an event happened that brought change to the city.
Wong-Tam has been involved politically for over 12 years. They started as Toronto City Counillor until they were elected as the NDP Candidate for Toronto Centre.
This year, Toronto elected a new mayor after the previous resigned over a martial affair scandal.
Gender-based violence was declared an epidemic with millions of dollars being put into initiatives and front line workers to help deal with those effected by it.
While the year is ending, there’s more change and news to come in 2024.
