John Wise will be the county’s new Warden, while Nathan Townend will takeover the Deputy Warden role. Council voted for the two at their final council meeting of the year last Wednesday (Dec. 13).
Council has also appointed members to advisory and special committees, boards and agencies for 2024.
Economic Development Coalition: Coun. Henry Hogg, and Coun. Terry Richardson
Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Public Health: Deputy Warden Townend
Prince Edward-Lennox & Addington Social Services Committee: Coun. Doug Davison and Coun Brian Calver
Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee: Coun. Tony Fritsch and Coun Calver
Lafarge Community Liaison Committee: Coun. Jim Hegadorn
Along with its own members, council appointed community members to the joint accessibility advisory committee and economic development coalition.
The declaration of office for Warden Wise was administered by the Honourable Justice Griffin. Tracey McKenzie, County Clerk, presided over the selection of the deputy warden. A representative of the Napanee Courts Administration office observed the counting of the votes by McKenzie.
