Love is in the air and could soon also be on the sea.

Hullo and the Vancouver Island Ferry Company have launched a new speed-dating event to help singles in Nanaimo make new connections. The Feb. 1 event will have singles from Vancouver Island and the Vancouver area meet and mingle during one of their 70-minute voyages.

CHLY speaks with Nathaniel Tougas about the dating scene in Nanaimo and how this event could be a good way for people to make connections or just be a marketing campaign. CHLY also spoke with Xander France, Hullo’s director of Marking and Sales, about the event and what Hullo hopes to come from it.
