Prebudget approval of $328,500 will go towards the necessary blower replacement work at the Bath sewage treatment plant.
Peak Construction Group was chosen as the preferred proponent for the project.
The 2024 capital budget has allocated $1,102,000 in funds towards this project. Due to components of the treatment system for the plant’s aeration system failing, they are in need of more immediate replacement. Peak will be removing and replacing two 40 HP centrifugal blowers.
The estimated cost to complete the work is $1,430,500. Half of the project costs will be paid through a service agreement with Correctional Services Canada. Depending availability of materials, work is estimated to occur between February 2024 and March 2025.
