Whitewater Ski Resort opened for the season on Friday with both the Silver King and Summit Chairs available for use.
Pete Cerullo, the Indoor Operations Manager at Whitewater, confirmed that the new Raven chair is fully prepared for operation but they are waiting for more snow for safety reasons. Once the Raven chair is open, it will provide access to 123 acres of terrain, including 14 new runs. This includes both groomed trails and backcountry areas.
The current snow base measured at the 1950 metre summit weather plot, stands at 95cm. According to the weather forecast, flurries are expected on Monday and Tuesday. As a reminder to everyone planning to ski during the early season, general manager Rebeckah Hornung says to ride with care.
Whitewater has also implemented changes to their food and beverage operations this year.
