The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has approved a project to replace a failing well at the Middle Lake Well Field.
Director of Water and Wastewater Raymound Boudreau says Production Well #3 has shown a decline in performance, with a 94% reduction in yield, which could pose a significant risk to the reliability of the Sydney water supply.

CBRM Mayor Cecil Clarke says the report on the well is part of Water and Wastewater’s due diligence.
