The Upper Grand District School (UGDSB) Board is taking a step away from the platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter). Instead, they are encouraging parents to seek updates on their newly revamped website and mobile app.
UG Connect, an update to the board’s original app which was released in 2019, is more user friendly and customizable, according to Heather Loney, UGDSB’s manager of communications and public relations.
Loney explained the step away from ‘X’ was driven in part by inappropriate comments on board posts.
CICW caught up with Loney about the new application, what to expect and what drove the decision.
