Vicky Serafini is the Communication Specialist for the ‘Ksan Society in Terrace, an organization that offers public education, social programs, safe shelter, food and essentials to women and their children fleeing abuse, and to women, men and families who are homeless or otherwise disadvantaged.
Last year, the ‘Ksan Society was approached by Associate Professor Dr. Brenda Meshack who is in the Faculty of Nursing at University of Victoria about misinformation and misconceptions about homelessness in communities in BC. They devised a survey (open until January 15th) to gather information about what the people of Terrace feel about homelessness and housing in their community. Vicky told CICK News that the reason for the survey is because there is a lot of chatter about the homeless population in Terrace, but the issue is multi-faceted, and the more the ‘Ksan Society knows, the better they can help to address the issue with the Terrace Housing Committee.
