Sections of the popular Ammonite Falls Regional Trail have been temporarily closed after a cougar displaying aggressive behaviour was spotted in the area. The annoucnement was made by the Regional District of Nanaimo on January 6. The cougar was first spotted on January 1st.
The closed section includes the Ammonite Falls Regional Trail between the Creekside trailhead and the falls viewpoint within Benson Creek Falls Regional Park.
