The weather in Corner Brook has been unseasonably warm recently and there isn’t much snow in the forecast. Next week’s temperatures are expected to be around 1 or 2 degrees with night time lows around minus 1.
Mayor Jim Parsons says every January there is a time when we get all seasons in one day. He says it’s the reality of living in climate change, which has also led to specific guidelines for development in the city.
Meanwhile, the lack of snow also means potholes are being noticed more often. Parsons says this is what happens when there is wet weather. When water gets into the cracks, freezes and thaws, it creates a “soup bowl” for motorists. He is asking residents to report potholes so they can be marked and repaired quickly.
