Producer Mackenzie Leigh, born and raised in Kingston, is returning to her hometown on Dec. 19 for a screening of her most recent film, DAUGHTER OF THE SUN.
Leigh began her career in the arts at Theatre 5 in Kingston. After graduating from Queen’s University, Leigh went on to work in film and met her husband, Director Ryan Ward. They started their award-winning production company Memory Pill together in 2008.
Now splitting her time between Manitoba and Los Angeles, Leigh has several films under her belt and is currently preparing to direct her first feature film.
In an interview with CFRC, Leigh stated, “[Kingston] is just so packed with talent, not just in the acting scene or the theater scene, but in music. And I think that even spills over into the restaurants and the culinary scene as well. So, I’ve always been so proud to be from Kingston.”
