The Burnaby Walkers’ Caucus is a citizens group dedicated to improving walkability for all in their community. One of the ways they achieve this is by hosting blind-led community walks with government officials and local members in attendance.
The goal of these walks is to highlight the risks that blind people face due to inaccessible walking infrastructure. Recently, CJSF was invited by the Walkers’ Caucus to one of these community walks led by David Brun and his guide dog Nadia.
Afterwards, CJSF spoke with David Brun as well as Vic Leach and Fraser Hiltz of the Walkers’ Caucus to gain further insight on the work being done by the citizens group.
