The Ontario Provincial Police has asked drivers to please remember winter driving is not the same as summer driving. As part of National Safe Driving Week the police force has produced a list of safe driving tips, the most critical of which is–slow down.
Bill Dickson of the OPP talks to CJRO about some of the things he’s seen on highways in Eastern Ontario, whether two-lane or a freeway. Distracted driving, speeding, following too close, and an increased amount of anger in general continue to cause unnecessary accidents, injuries, property damage and deaths.
Dickson points out that winter driving, with or without snow tires, is not the same as driving in August.
