The area known as “Ginter’s,” a popular greenspace in Prince George, is only partially designated as a park, a status gained relatively recently. Ginter’s Green Forever, a group formed in 2017, rallied residents to prevent transit development and highlight the area’s significance. Once the estate of Ben & Grace Ginter, charismatic self-made millionaires, the property’s transfer to municipal ownership became muddled over time.
Today, “Ginter’s” is divided among various owners, with the city acquiring its portion for infrastructure needs. Regardless, residents have long used the space for recreation, and the city has even paved paths there.
