The Six Nations Community Food Bank is continuing to look for different possible funding streams to help the organization keep up with the community’s food demands.
Board Chair of SN Food Bank Mary Monture says that a continued need for the food bank’s services has been identified within the community, and funding for the organization remains an issue she would like to address, considering the number of clients being served.
She says the food bank currently sees between 5-25 new registrations a week. She says with the new registrations the food bank has had to increase the amount of food being delivered to keep up with the community’s needs.
In April, Monture detailed that the organization recently received it’s charitable number which would help with some of its funding issues. But she says the food bank is continuing to look for donors and organizations both on and off-reserve to collaborate with to help with operational costs.
