A recent survey conducted by Canadian polling and market research firm Abacus Data indicated that the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservatives are in a healthy position to form another majority government in the province’s upcoming election.
The poll, which surveyed 600 eligible voters between October 28-31, showed that Tim Houston and the governing P.C. party hold a 19 per cent lead over the second-place Nova Scotia New Democratic Party, which were closely followed by the Liberals.
Fixing healthcare, affordability, housing, and reducing taxes are the four leading priorities amongst voters — with Houston’s party being ahead or competitive when people were asked which party was best equipped to address these issues.
CKDU spoke with Kelly Bennett, Vice President and Atlantic lead at Abacus Data, to get a better understanding of these early voting trends.
