The 16th Massimadi Festival, which screens Afro-queer films from around the world at a handful of cinemas in Montreal, runs from October 23-27.
The festival is celebrating its sweet 16 with films emphasizing the theme of rebirth, including in Anthony Chen’s film Drift (2023). The film, a story of finding connection and hope after fleeing war, kicks off the festival on opening night.
Montrealers will be able to see these films at pay-what-you-can prices, thanks to the festival’s donation-based ticketing system.
