An empty seat on Mapleton council will be filled in seven weeks. Council finalized the appointment process at their council meeting this week after previously approving the appointment a new councillor by a call for applications.
The seat became vacant following the resignation of Martin Tamlyn, who resigned from his position after accepting a job as Climate Change Coordinator for Centre Wellington.
Township Clerk, Larry Wheeler, said it will be an interesting process. The vote will take place on November 12 with the new councillor to be sworn in on November 26th.
