Russell Township, a rural municipality southeast of Ottawa, has chosen Charles Armstrong in a recent by-election. The seat was vacant due to the former mayor resigning to take another job and one of the sitting councillors being appointed to the mayoral position. Armstrong has run for Council several times.
In other news, Dale Lusk of Metcalfe, who was stabbed on September 23 in the rural Ottawa village, has died. Police say there is no danger to the public but have not announced an arrest. A new transformer station is planned for Piperville Road in east rural Ottawa, and a new process for battery energy storage systems has been announced by the City of Ottawa.
