At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on Wednesday evening, September 18, two resolutions were passed regarding the working conditions of the unionized employees at the MRC office.
The resolutions approved a pilot project for two changes that were requested by the union during negotiations with the MRC, one that would allow employees flexibility to work 9 days over two weeks, and another to voluntarily reduce their hours from 35 hours over five days to 32 hours over four days.
MRC Director General Kim Lesage explained that they planned to assess the impact of the changes after six months and decide whether to continue the project.
She added that she wasn’t sure how many employees planned on altering their schedule.
