With nice weather still in the forecast and GoByBike week about to kick off, École Quarterway Elementary School’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is reminding drivers and cyclists about road safety.
Kara Walsh is the PAC vice chair for École Quarterway Elementary School as well has been overseeing the GoByBike program at the school.
She told CHLY that while the school sees a lot of students come to school by car, she is proud of the number of students that ride to school. Out of around 400 students, last school year they say over 90 students ride their bikes to school.
As the school is along three busy roads, road safety is a top priority for the PAC, Kelsey Chandler told CHLY. Chandler is the co-chair of the PAC’s road safety committee and spoke to CHLY about the work they do to improve safety for students getting to school.
